Folder Tab

This tab allows you to select a folder for import. You can type folder's path directly or use standard browse for folder dialog. Also you can specify additional parameters:

• Include subfolders - instructs Twain importer to do recursive search for the images in all subfolders under current
• Delete Files - instructs Twain importer to delete all imported image files

Image Enhancement Tab (Pro Edition only)

This tab allows you to specify additional image enhancements that allow improving image quality or reducing size on disk.

Binarization:All images
All images: binary, color or gray will be transformed to binary. Binary image has much smaller size on disk than color. Many OCR and barcode recognition applications require only binary images.	Before:	After:
Binarization:Colorless images
TWAIN Importer detects color content on a page. Binary by nature but saved as color page will be transformed to binary. This is usual situation when scanned pictures mixed with forms. After this filter all pictures will imported as colorful (no changes) and all forms (or other images that do not require color) will be converted to binary. So you can always scan color documents from MFD then export into your software using importer with this option and have best result because black and white images will be transformed to binary and color pages will leave in color. Paper color:Flatten
This option smooths background and makes image look better. Also saving image to JPEG file after this filter makes size of file up to 40% less. Note: Only for 24 bit color images	Before:	After:
Paper color:Dropout
This option removes background. Image after this transformation will have white background and more easy to read from display . Also saving image to JPEG file after this filter makes size of file up to 40% less. Note: Only for 24 bit color images	Before:	After:
Rotate

Scan settings Tab

This tab allows you to specify options for scanning.

• Emulate Real Scanner - allows scanning images with Kofax VRS product and producing images with specified color format. For example, if you point out that TWAIN Importer should produce only 24 bit color images then all images will be returned in 24 bit color format. You can point color format for importing using your TWAIN application. Now there is no way to specify color format or page size in TWAIN Importer configuration dialog
• Create log file - allows enable logging to txt file. You might need to restart your application when you enable logging
• Loop mode (available in TWAIN Importer Dev only) - allows you to specify number of pages to scan. Importer will use images from specified folder and will run in cycle through them if number of available images is less than number of required. This mode was made to help developers to test their scan application on a virtual scanner. For example you can specify folder with just one image and instruct Twain Import to produce you 1000 pages.
